2012 Season

2/5/12 - Great Super Bowl today.   Better yet we are getting more daylight in Ketchikan every day.  The summer fishing season is just around the corner!  Book your trip of a lifetime with Explore Alaska Charters.

June Kings -  In June the Alaska Department of Fish and Game sets the daily bag limit for King Salmon to 6 per person.  This limit is established for the Herring Cove Hatchery area which is located just 3 miles South of our Pennock Island location.  

 September Silvers - September is an epic month for self guided fisherman seeking silver salmon.   Book your self guided fishing package today.  

2012 Charter Halibut Bag Limits - New regulations for the 2012 season.  Guided fisherman fishing for halibut in area 2C (Southeast Alaska) will be allowed to retain 1 halibut per day with a length under 45 inches (44 lbs), or over 68 inches (160 lbs).  This is a big improvement from the 2011 under 37" restriction for charter halibut.      

Halibut Bag Limit - Self guided fisherman in Southeast Alaska are still allowed 2 halibut per day of any size.  Guided fisherman are currently limited to one halibut per day.  Rent one of our fully equiped self guided fishing boats, and try your luck.
